i guess he really is baba’s grandchild

By Ryan & Betsy

I finally snapped a few pics of Linus with his absolute favorite thing in the world, the vacuum. Words cannot explain how enraptured he is with it. Yesterday I left it running for ten minutes while I sat on the couch and watched TV did something productive just so he would be occupied. Please note the level of concentration in his expressions as he summons all of his being into…well, I’m not really sure what exactly it is that he’s doing, but whatever it is, it requires deep thought and determination. And a lot of grunting.

If you look closely, you can see laser beams shooting out of his eyes.

He likes for his Leap Frog table to be clean. But really, who doesn’t?

Still think I’m exaggerating his love of the vacuum? This is his signature move. He kisses the vacuum. The only other person I know who may (read: most likely) kisses their vacuum is Baba.

I don’t have a vacuum joke for this one. I just like it.

mail slot game

By Ryan & Betsy

What is it they say about kids, something about how they find joy in things that adults take for granted? Well, I’m not sure it really works in this case, because I still don’t think the mail slot is hilarious like Linus does…so technically I’m not “taking it for granted,” I just don’t like it as much as he does…I swear there was a point here somewhere, but clearly, I’ve completely lost my train of thought/my mind/your attention.

Anyhoo, Linus LOVES the mail slot. He’s big into opening and closing anything on a hinge, and the mail slot is especially interesting because every once in a while, there’s a Daddy on the other side, peering through.

More, Daddy, more!

mommy’s little helper

By Ryan & Betsy

Exciting news just in: I think that I’m pretty close to being able to give chores to Linus. He loves both emptying the dishwasher AND vacuuming. I don’t have a picture of it yet, but he gets super excited whenever he sees me take it out of the closet. And then when I turn it on, he starts pushing it around and giggling hysterically. But the strangest thing is that he’ll bend over and BITE it. This may sound normal to some of you, but Linus isn’t a big biter (at least not yet). I can’t figure out why an active vacuum cleaner makes him want to bite it, but that’s not really important. What’s important is that he will soon take over several household chores that I loathe.

…caught red-handed removing knives from the dishwasher. He comes running when he hears the dishes clinking together.

Sometimes you have to get in the dishwasher to really appreciate it, you know?

PS, those pants he’s wearing are size 4T!

tupperware cabinet=hours of fun

By Ryan & Betsy

We’ve installed childlocks on every cabinet in the kitchen, except for one…the tupperware cabinet. I couldn’t bring myself to cut Linus off from his beloved tupperware. I think it’s hilarious that he loves it so much, because I used to tease Ryan about his love of tupperware, too. I guess it runs in the family.

He likes dig really deep into the cabinet and pull out EVERYTHING.

Ah, yes…this is the perfect lid to lick and slobber on…

I need to remember to wash this stuff before I use it. I’m sure every piece in there has Linus slobber on it.
