Welcome home

By Ryan & Betsy

In an attempt to make up for the lack of posts in the last week (sorry guys, I’ve been a little busy), I’m going to cram a bunch of pics and info into this post. I promise I will be more diligent in the future, since I know you’ve all been waiting with bated breath for a new baby blog!

After five days at Sibley Memorial Hospital, Ryan and I were ready to bring to Linus home, although I am grateful for the time we spent there. We learned so much from the dozens of nurses, doctors, lactation consultants, etc., that I couldn’t imagine getting booted out after the standard 48 hours. I guess that is one upside of having a c-section!

Ryan’s parents were there to greet us when we returned home. A ten-hour drive is not too far to keep them from seeing their first grandchild! We had a great visit with them and they got lots of Linus time, considering their short stay. Linus also got to meet his two sisters (?), Boo and Jet. They are very curious about their new roommate and like to lick and sniff him. They seem particularly interested in his diapers, and based on certain observations I’ve made over the years, I assume that Jet would like to eat the dirty diapers and Boo would like to roll around in them. So far, neither has happened (fingers crossed!).

Boo and Jet, meet Linus.

Granddad and Grandma Drennan: It just occurred to me that we never discussed your preferred “grandparent names”! We will have to work on that.

Dan, Marie, Meredith, Kim and Will: Thank you so much for the delicious fruit! It was one of the only edible things in the house, plus the colors really matched the living room…and I prefer all of my food to be color-coordinating, as you know.

This is one of our favorite Linus expressions. My interpretation of it is: “Who are these people and why are they all staring at me?”
